Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) can present in different ways for different people. However, current diagnostic research indicates that the behavioral presentation falls into one of three categories: Inattentive Type, Hyperactive-Impulsive Type, or Combined Type. AD/HD resource.  Children and adolescents with ADHD present in many different ways, and treatment should be flexible and informed by a thorough assessment. ADHD treatment standards suggest a course of behavioral treatment before medication is tried.

As the Director of the Behavioral Assessment and Treatment Clinic at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, I developed a thorough behavioral assessment and specialized behavior treatment plan to address the unique treatment needs of children and adolescents diagnosed with AD/HD, ODD, and CD. My assessment and treatment process includes a comprehensive psychological evaluation, psychotherapy, school consultation, and family support. I can also work with you to determine if a medication evaluation is necessary.
